About Us
From the owner -
In 2016, my daughter adopted a border collie from a shelter. She tried crate training with a traditional wire crate, only to find shortly thereafter that the dog injured herself and ruined the crate. It became painfully clear: the dog was grappling with separation anxiety, putting her safety at risk.
In that moment of frustration, I had a light-bulb moment. Why not build my own crate? After all, I run a metal fabrication shop in Topeka, KS. After some planning, I designed a crate that would minimize the chance of harm to her or the crate.
After building the first prototype crate, my daughter started over with the crate training - following the ASPCA recommendations for dogs with separation anxiety. This time, the results were incredible. The dog was able to spend trouble-free nights in her crate!
After resolving this issue for my daughter and her dog, I realized that there are likely other dogs with the same temperament. Consequently, I decided to start selling the dog crates to others in need. After all, every dog deserves a safe place to call their own.
The dog crates we sell today are largely inspired by the original design from 2016, and incorporates various improvements that we've developed over the years.
